Wednesdays Musings - Tiny Frugal Things

1. Hubby has decided to tackle fixing the weather stripping seal on the front door so we won’t have to hire someone to do it.

2. Saved the last of the chicken from my Valentines dinner to use to make chicken tostados. The few bones I made into a small batch of broth which will be added to some in the frig when I make soup this week.

3. Hubby took apart a small fan and cleaned it thoroughly so it runs better.

4. The coffee grinder got jammed so I spent a half hour cleaning it thoroughly so it works well again.

5. After finding a few things in the fridge that had to be thrown out I planned ways to use or freeze the other near their end veggies and sauces/broths before they went bad too.

  1. I have had the supplies for the front door weather stripping for weeks and haven't done it...I keep putting it off and now its 26 degrees outside! Thanks for the reminder...I think the tiniest frugal things are the most gratifying.

    1. I agree. He did fixed the weather stripping on the bad side yesterday and it took very little time except for the repeated trips to Home Depot to come up with the right product.

    2. And then this morning we found out his fix didn’t work right so back to the drawing board.

  2. I hope the weather stripping works better this time around. We actually need to do that as well, but it will have to wait until spring or summer.

    God bless.

    1. The door is original to the house (1951) so it is proving to be a challenge.

  3. Original fixtures can be a challenge. I was cursing our shower just this morning for the millionth time. :)

Dinners and the week ahead

As I type this I am listening to Hubby on the drums plus a saxophone and bass playing smooth jazz! I saw a handwritten post on the bulletin ...
