Week 27: Starting a social life and still working the to do list

We had a fun time at our neighbors 4th of July BBQ and met lots of nice people. It was pretty quiet on the fireworks front here as they are totally illegal and there is a hot line to report people using them. Fear of wildfires so only one public one on the 3rd and couple on the 4th in a different locations.

We are marking things off on our to do lists. I established a primary care dr and now have all the follow up routine tests done or scheduled. The electrician finally came and found a number of things weren’t as bad as the home inspection implied. He’s not quite done so I don’t yet know the actual cost.

  1. Our neighborhood has more amateur pyrotechnicians than any place I've ever lived. They must, very literally, have money to burn. Makes me crazy. Glad your electric issues were not as bad as expected, hope the bill isn't either. :)

    1. Sorry to hear you have to put up with so much fireworks!

  2. We are on our 22nd consecutive day of triple digits and haven't had but maybe one rain this year. Terribly dry, even by our standards. Fireworks are always illegal here, too, because it is always so dry. But they were going off all around us for 3 nights. Ugh.

Glad you met some folks in the neighborhood at the BBQ. My old neighborhood would have a block party once a year. But the area where we are now is not as friendly. We don't know but one neighbor by name.

    1. Sorry no one has taken on creating a friendlier neighborhood as it makes such a difference.

  3. They became legal here and I have neighbors letting the off for every holiday: Christmas, NYE, Valentine's Day, a couple times at Easter, Memorial Day and of course 4th of July. Plus several weekends in between. It's ridiculous.

    1. That sounds difficult for humans and animals.

  4. Fireworks are illegal in most parts of Placer Co but not down in Roseville which is weird to me?? like why? Hopefully the remodel stuff will get sorted soon. Barclay finished the outside wall where he had to cut for the pipe, so now it's all put back together.

    1. And here I was thinking it was the recent memories of horrible wildfires that caused the laws and compliance. That is weird! We probably should put in another outside faucet which means a hole in the foundation - let me add that to the list lol.
