Oops, yesterday was the first day of Spring

For some reason I thought it was always on the 21st but nope. So here we are with another season arriving in the midst of this odd pandemic season. One could take comfort in the fact that nature keeps cycling along although we also have to accept that COVID-19 is part of nature too. Like wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes and other disasters but this could be stopped if we all did the necessary things.

I should have known Spring was here as my nose is dripping, I’m coughing just a bit and the poodle girl’s eyes are getting runny. Ah - pollen. Of course in S Cal pollen isn’t just a spring phenomenon but it is more prevalent then.

Are there any other signs of Spring here? I have been hearing more bird songs and of course we had to adjust to daylight saving time but that is it.

What about your corner of the world? Signs of Spring or Fall depending on where you live?

  1. They said on the local news the other day that people aren't experiencing season allergies nearly as bad as in past years because of wearing masks. They also said it's more important with pollen in the air to change or wash your masks more often.

    1. Same with the flu this year producing many fewer hospitalizations and deaths. Masks are helpful in lots of ways.

  2. Daffodils coming up, forsythia budding, and nose running. All signs of spring.

  3. The disappearing snow has left the usual mold on the ground and I am sniffing away. We need a good rain to wash it all away.

    God bless.

  4. Found your blog and reading it from Malaysia. We have Spring and Summer every day of the year, some days it is just more wet when the rains come. As we do not have winter, our flowers bloom all the time. I agree, the year and the world just goes on, pandemic or not. Hope you enjoy the flowers without the sniffles
