I went to the podiatrist today for my 6 week checkup and physical therapy referral. I thought I had to use The Boot for four more weeks but he said I needed to wean myself off of it within two weeks as the bone has healed. My foot is still swollen and not flexible but now I have a compression stocking to wear and I can actually put a sandal on and walk a bit using one crutch to help. What a nice surprise.
The tops I ordered didn’t fit so I ordered a bunch of different ones today. I’m embracing casual instead of smart casual. Thanks social distancing and nothing to do but grocery shop and talk to people on Zoom or FaceTime! Did have a fun board meeting via zoom this morning.
Getting a haircut in our garage tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Trying to come up with a list of ideas to keep me feeling positive the rest of this strange year. Things to do that don’t feel like chores. Do you have ideas?
What great news and progress! Happy for you.
ReplyDeleteCasual is perfect for this crazy year.
ReplyDeleteHow about planning the flowers for next growing season, or a list of movies that you would like to see.
God bless.
It is a crazy year! Hard to remember it has only been 6 months.
DeleteJuhli, so glad to hear you are progressing so nicely. I'm sure you are enjoying each new little freedom as it comes back online!
ReplyDeleteIdeas for this strange year? Sigh. I think we all feel your pain. In our case, we've created weekly activities that we adhere to to prevent life feeling like Groundhogs Day. We picnic every Friday at our harbor, sometimes inviting along another couple, we eat out every Tuesday at our Wine Club (patio dining), we get Takeout and eat at the beach for sunset viewing once every week. Just being around other people, even from 6+ ft. distance is helpful in breaking up the monotony.
Our daytime activities are consciously varied by the day for same reason- we rotate between long walks, hikes, bike rides, kayaking, golfing, and paddleboarding, generally for long enough to include a picnic or takeout lunch. We make a point to get to the beach and our adult pool in the afternoons, we sit outside in our yard for as many meals as practical.
The only 'look forward' to events currently are RV trips within a days drive. We'll do the same stuff there we are doing here, but at least the scenery and takeout dining options will be different. 😕
You have done a good job of continuing to be active. Ventura county is still more restrictive and due to past health problems we aren’t willing to eat at a restaurant. Take out is a big yes though.
DeleteWow, great news on the foot!! You must be really pleased. I'm pretty stressed about election so not feeling 'positive' more freaked out. We havent been to any restaurants and actually I think Placer Co only has patio seating which I know a couple of friends have been to. We did takeout this week. Just tacos but it was great not to HAVE to cook. We have nothing planned. Our big anniversary trip was supposed to be to Yellowstone, so that was cancelled due to it all being hotels and eating out. I figure we just need to hang on till next year. I need some new yoga type pants, I'm going to go check out Altheas( sp). Take care and great news on the foot healing so well.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a change in what I thought I was having to do for the next month so made me so happy. We do takeout a bit and Hubby has gotten tacos and such and sat on pathos but I won’t. Long ago I had heart inflammation from a virus and this is causing that in some people. I have no interest in that difficult recovery again!
