Five Things #2

1. I took my granddaughter to the bookstore on Sunday afternoon to get books 2 & 3 in a 3 book series she is reading and she was quite happy to get gently used books. I checked out the first in the series from the library to read myself so we can discuss it. It is called The Serpent's Secret and the first chapter is titled A Monster Visits Suburbia. What's not to like!

2. At the bookstore I found the cutest 2026 calendar (all calendars half price) - Art dogs! Check out the names of each dog such as Henri Muttisse or Paw Klee. I don't need a paper calendar, but I have it hung where I will see it several times a day and it makes me smile each time. I hope to draw my version of each picture each month.

3. I got my new AirPods working by myself and am unreasonably proud of myself.

4. After a year of mailing us refund checks despite us having gone through the electronic deposit process, Kaiser started electronically depositing the money. I am unreasonably happy about this. Btw, our plan includes a refund of our Medicare premium each month.

5. I decided not to attend a Lunar New Year Calligraphy program at the library after getting a longer description of what it entailed. Signed up for a vision board workshop at a local shop instead.

  1. I feel like the smallest things sometimes make the biggest impact on our lives...they all add up! So its great that you had a couple of good ones. (:

    1. With what is happening in our country right now I find that it is so important to notice the little things that are good.

  3. What a cute calendar. A vision board is something I have thought of doing, but have really no idea of how to go about creating one.

    God bless.

    1. It is a lovely independent bookstore with very helpful staff and 2 locations. It really is a feel good space. I don't generally buy books anymore but the grandgirls love to get books as gifts and the older one loves to go pick her own out.

  5. Great find in that calendar. So glad it makes you smile. Hope you will draw your own version of each month's mutt. We always had a calendar hanging in the kitchen when I was growing up. Haven't had a paper calendar in years.
Yay for finding gently used books to share with your grandbaby. I try to read the books I buy for my grands first, too. Just enjoyed a book entitled "Invisible Isabel" - which has been nominated for a state of Texas book award.
High five for setting up your air buds. Well done. This week I have felt especially decrepit and helpless. My hands often work less like hands with fingers and more like doubled up fists. Makes it hard to do things. Was trying to squeeze ketchup into a measuring spoon and my hands just weren't having it.
The vision board class workshop will be great fun. Please share your board with us.
