Ready or Not!

We are feeling good about Christmas prep as we just have one last minute gift to buy (interesting cheese was requested) plus getting the snacks we are taking to the Christmas Day gathering.

Once I bought some tissue paper, we found that between brown paper & saved holiday bags plus a partial roll of wrapping paper and some saved ribbon and tags, we had just enough to wrap everything. I did buy a roll of "use any time of year" paper to wrap our older son's January 3rd birthday gift - hard to believe he is going to be 55 this time!

We have a plan for Christmas Eve dinner with our older son and DIL who are visiting for a week plus so there will be a bit of grocery shopping on Sunday. I've also got other meals in mind and stocked up for. They are just staying with us Monday night and then pet sitting nearby, but will be over frequently including Christmas Eve to exchange gifts. Coco has met and played with the dog they are sitting so he will come over to play which will break up the rainy days for both of them. Another Cavapoo surprisingly.

So that leaves regular house cleaning and laundry before company arrives. We are starting a predicted 8 days of rainy weather so there is no problem needing to do stuff inside.

I'm in a pretty good place right now as my foot only hurts a little by the end of the day and I am getting a good sense of what I want the next year to be like. Hope you are enjoying the season in a way that works for you!

  2. Another Christmas of not being stressed out, over worked, over spending, and resentful - I would say that my December is going pretty darn well. (: I am done prepping, except for some baking next Wednesday.

  3. I think I am done. Just cleaning and tidying making sure all is ready for when our sons arrive. I do hope both will be here as the youngest sounds pretty sick and now is having a problem with his boiler.

    God bless.
