Deer - 5 vs Us - 4 but at least there are flowers

Apparently just ready to open Agapanthus flowers are a deer munchie! Last year we only had one flower sprout so this is still a win.

  1. We are lucky they are not a problem for us. The squirrels can be tough sometimes, though.

  2. Can't see the deer but I imagine that was quite a sight. Your street/neighborhood is lovely with the flowers and dappled sunshine.

    1. They come through at night mostly so no deer in the photo. They have deadheaded plants in two other yard adjacent.

  3. I've been noticing more deer on my street, probably because of construction around the area they were hanging out in. I took to spraying deer repellent on certain shrubs out front that were getting no chance to mature. I still see deer poop in my yard, though.

    1. The plants we planted out front are all "deer resistant" but this plant came with the house! I didn't know there was spray deer repellant available but they really only go after the flowers and nibble on the leaves in the process.

  4. Agapanthus are one of my favorites! We have SO many deer though, so that along with the heat and dry conditions, I don't even try with my yard. Sometimes we have a herd of a dozen and a half deer in the yard at one time! When we lived on our much missed hundred acres, we maybe saw one at a time.

    1. Wow, that is a lot of deer to have in your yard at once!
