I have 10 prompts left and am looking for suggestions for 9 of them as Read in a “ber” month simply has to wait for September to come around. Ideas?
1. Title starts with the letter “N”
2. Set in Autumn
3. Has a moon on the cover
4. Author has won an Edgar award (for any other their books not necessarily the one you recommend)
5. In the public domain
6. Audiobook has multiple narrators
7. Directions in the title (could be something that starts with “Go to …”, “Keep …” etc. as well as compass directions)
8. Written in the third person
9. Genre chosen for you by someone else (I might read a graphic novel in the Catstronauts series as my 8 year old granddaughter is consuming them right now lol)
Ken Follet has won an Edgar Award and I really like his books. You could check him out and see if anything strikes your fancy. The Name of the Rose could be a book for the letter N.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks!
DeleteI’m going to try his Norte-Dame: A Short History of the Meaning of Cathedrals which was written after the fire. A not typical book for him and something different for me.
DeleteIf you decide on Ken Follett as Edgar winner, I heartily recommend Pillars of the Earth. I've read it, I believe, 4 times...the first time on recommendation and loved it, the second time when I had a transatlantic flight that I wanted to have something I knew would keep my attention, third time when I was recovering from a painful car accident. I've recommended it to two bosses, and they both loved it too. Middle ages intrigue, love the process of cathedral building. Okay, enough. Warning, it has right at 1,000 pages, but SO worth it. His Eye of the Needle was excellent as well (I've read it twice), and it's shorter. I've read many more of his, but those are my two favorites.

Here's Goodreads suggestions for multiple narrators of audio book: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/22946688-31----audiobook-has-multiple-narrators
That prompt they say can be read rather than listened to, as long as it does have an audio book that has multi narrators.
I'm going to give Daisy Jones and the Six a try for that prompt, but Remarkably Bright Creatures is on that prompt which I just finished and listed as another prompt. Liked it very much!
I've gone on far too much, but saving best for last. Public domain has Moby Dick at only 800 pages. LOL Save yourself from that one! Maybe Jane Eyre? I've read it more than once also.
ps: I think you must read granddaughters recommendation for graphic novel!
Moby Dick = not happening π but I admire you sticking with it!
DeleteLOL VERY wise!
