A statement flower, neighbors & baseball - Thriving week 31

Do you know anything about how to get Agapanthus to bloom? Last year we had no blooms and this year there is this lone statement bloom lol. I like its solitary splendor but do wish to know more about how to care for these plants. That being said, apparently the deer come through at night and eat the flowers but not the stems according to our neighbor.

In other news this week -

Two sets of close by neighbors are on overseas trips and I was asked and happy to water plants, etc. for one of the families. They had a frig clear out before leaving so we were given a couple bags of food some of which went to my son’s family. We have really lucked out once again with friendly and kind neighbors whom we like.

On Sunday we went with our son & his family plus his MIL to an Oakland Ballers baseball game. They are a team in the Pioneer League, an independent baseball league. Playing off the Oakland A’s they go by the Oakland B’s. This is their first season at a refurbished field in a park and they are trying really hard to make it family friendly and fun like minor league games usually are. We had with us a 7 year old who wasn’t feeling well and a 17 month old so I didn’t see much of the game and we left at the end of the 8th. Nice to have a new experience though.

  2. We all went to the Triple A ball game last summer and had a 1 year old, 3 year old, 7 year old and 13 year old with us. That did pretty well because there was room enough for them to stand in the bleachers and move around a little. But we didn't see much of the game either!!

What a gorgeous plant. Hope maybe Google or a local nursery can help you figure out how to get more blooms - or how to keep the deer from eating them!

How generous of your neighbor to share the food from their frig before their trip. We were eating hit or miss the few days before we left for the beach. Now to stock back up tomorrow at the grocery.

Nicely Done!

Looks nicer than I would have arranged it! We sent olives and mustard too.
