I am remembering this morning the tradition of making woven paper little baskets with my Mom when I was little which were then filled with flowers - probably violets but I don’t recall for sure. I would then take them to the neighbors and (and them on their front door knob. Did anyone else do this?

Yes!! I think we made ours at school but maybe at home with mom, too. Wish I had a picture. Can't remember what we made them out of, I think we wove strips of paper. We also danced around the May pole. Nice memories. Thank you for the reminder. I bet your May baskets were especially sweet with the little violets tucked inside.
ReplyDeleteI think ours were woven with strips of paper too. It may have been lilacs not violets as I really can't remember lol.
