Well, its done and I'm amazed

I think of myself as having an organized, somewhat minimalist household but when I went through to do my "clean sweep" this morning I found that every room but the bathrooms needed it! There were things to put away, recycle, throw out and donate. A couple of items for Hubby to decide about this evening. In the middle of this I walked the dog and pulled a few weeds as it is a gorgeous spring day not to be missed by staying inside.

I'm having leftovers for lunch and then off to help get everything ready for tomorrow's Friends of the Library book sale. I've managed to do something useful, make our home more peaceful and not spend anything. Better than going browsing for a summer dress I don't need LOL.

    1. It is so much easier (but less lively) to do this as empty nesters.

  2. In our house we are conditioned to clean up every spring to donate items for the annual rummage sale, to raise money for the church. Our church attendance is sporatic; but we enthusiastically support the rummage sale!

    1. It is nice to have a worthwhile purpose to remind yourself to do this.

  3. Good luck with FOL sale . Our friends do so much for all the branch libraries in our county. I'm a member ,of course, and help when ever I can. Our big sale isn't till fall, but I put new stuff out on our FOL sale shelf.

    1. Thanks for being a friend of your library Christina! We wish our branch was set up for a sale shelf but instead we have 3 sales a year. We sold about 90% of what we put out today for a profit of about $5,000. Beautiful weather and lots of arts festival goers coming by helped.

  4. I really think that a spring cleaning is therapeutic - no wonder it is a lasting tradition.
