What chores leave you shaking your head?

Today was my bi-weekly time to spend on grooming our pooch.  She is a miniature poodle and of course needs combing and brushing between her every 8 week professional grooming and a bath in the middle of that time.  She also has to have her teeth brushed.  And because she is a poodle and their hair grows just like human hair, she also has to have the hair inside her ears pulled out!  That is the chore that leaves me shaking my head - I can't believe that I actually spend time doing this!  I can't think of any other chore that I find quite so "ridiculous" in the context of life - but of course it is necessary to keep her from getting ear infections.

Do you have any chores that leave you shaking your head in bemusement over how you are spending your time?

    1. Thanks Debby. She has brought us lots of joy. But as my son said when his dog needed a winter coat, "I can't believe I'm buying clothes for a dog!"

  2. I was going to say the same thing as Debby....she's such a cutie and looks a heck of a lot better than Rockefeller at the moment. I do plan to spiffy him up today. We take him in monthly for grooming because I don't want to be the one to pull the hair from his ears or cut his nail--noooooo thank you.

This week I have been shaking my head in bemusement at my attempt to dust. I think I have managed one item a day before I get distracted by a call or the dog or my own thinking. The dusting cloth and furniture spray are currently resting on top of a credenza (day 2) having successfully been moved to current location after spending about 2 days on my desk. REEEEEDICULOUS.

  3. Well, photos can lie LOL. That picture was not taken yesterday but rather after she was professionally groomed. Much scruffier today as she is getting groomed next Friday after 8 weeks.

I find it hard to get motivated to dust too!

  4. I've always wondered what the aliens would think landing here & observing us groom our dogs, feeding them on demand, walking behind them picking up their waste. Those guys wouldn't even have to ask us to "Take me to your leader"

But perhaps our dogs really get leadership right - be appealing, always be happy to see us, and offer unconditional love~
