Five on Friday

Well this was a busy and fun week for us!.

1. We went to a concert by The Electric Squeezebox Orchestra at The Jazz School in Berkeley with the  couple who play music with DH almost every Sunday afternoon at our house (he is the drummer so they come over with their instruments). It was great.

2. Monday and Tuesday were Nana & Papa camp for the almost 9 yr old granddaughter as school started this past Wednesday.

Monday we took a ferry to San Francisco, had lunch at the ferry building, rode a street car to pier 39 where you can see sea lions and go to an arcade then came back via streetcar and ferry. Surprisingly she saw two school friends on the return ferrry - what are the odds?

On the evening dog walk she asked to go by the closest little Free Library and came home with a book for herself and 2 for her little sister plus a like new stuffie from a free box. That’s my girl! A movie rounded out the day. The top delight of the day for me was how thrilled she was to see a small flock of pelicans in flight as she he had only seen them in pictures before and how much she enjoyed the ferry and streetcar rides.

Tuesday we played, made a periscope and secret messages from a Kiwi science kit. I took her to buy new shoes for school and Papa took her to see Freakier Friday and out for ice cream while the pup and I recovered with a nap!

3. Same granddaughter slept over Monday night which made the dog deleriously happy until I got up first and refused to let him back in to sleep with her. Took him an hour to give up and go to sleep on the couch although he was thankfully quiet about his protest. 🐶

4. And the rest of the week was back to normal!

5. But I fixed the coffee grinder by following a YouTube video provided by the manufacturer. I'm not sure what fixed it but I'm always grateful for YouTube as the repair educator that it is.

  1. What a fun time with your granddaughter! We were in Monterey a couple of years ago, and the sea lions had amassed along the banks of the Bay, right along a walking path, which created quite the tourist traffic jam. They are so noisy when in large groups!

  3. I have really relied on You Tube these last few years to teach me things I didn't know. Recently: replacing the dryer vent hose. (:
