I continue to enjoy and find uplifting my commitment to finding things to list each week. Please add some of yours in the comments!
1. President Elect Biden and VP Elect Harris! And everyone who turned out to vote for them whether via mail or in-person.
2. I have to give a heartfelt thanks to my club’s members. The board meetings, general monthly meeting and book group continue to be consistent highlights in the first two weeks of each month. Lovely people and good friends.
3. Rain and cooler weather. The rain was odd and a one off but came down pretty hard early Saturday morning.
4. Cleared out and cleaned the smaller bedroom closet. I’m thankful we were able to agree to donate some of what was stored in there.
5. I was able to take an almost 1.5 mile walk! Thankful for a body that heals and physical therapy that speeds the process.
6. I modified my approach to making chicken enchilada casserole and it came out great. Always thankful for cooking efforts that taste good and produce leftovers lol.
Wonderful news about your continued recovery and long walk, Juhli! And such wonderful weather this week to enjoy doing so.
ReplyDeleteMy thankful list:
- November sunsets. They are spectacular.
- The return of pumpkin everything!
- The news by Pfizer that an effective vaccine appears to be well on it's way.
- Our ocean views. I sat outside for hours yesterday reading and gazing at the ocean in the distance, thinking many times of how fortunate I am to be able to do so. The ocean calms me like nothing else does, and right now I need lots of calming!
I totally agree with your list
DeleteI join a weekly gratitude group via teleconference/zoom. It's a great opportunity to reflect on the past week, to identify the gems. We often share what we're anticipating as well. Nothing better than something to be thankful for and something to look forward to. #5 must have been a highlight for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I may have to start this after we get back from visiting family.
DeleteA great list and I think your Thankful Thursdays are rubbing off on me. Yesterday I was in the car and thought about how thankful I was for good music and a sunny day.
ReplyDeleteThose are too good ones.
DeleteI am thankful for my motivation to clean out my closets and thankful for managing to eat a lot more healthy this week.
ReplyDeleteI think trying to find positives in life is a lot more important these days. Thanks for sharing your Thankful Thursdays.
The development of more effective treatments and, like Tamara, the promise -- hope -- of a vaccine, so we can all get back to our normal lives!
ReplyDeleteYay for a nice LONG walk!! Glad you are up to it. Thankful for walks these days, too. And cooler weather with sunshine.
ReplyDeleteYour enchilada casserole sounds like a big hit. I haven't made that it awhile. Might be good for tonight!
Love your list and everyone's comments. I hardily agree with every single one. I think I will say I am thankful we were able to visit my mother-in-law this week. At 90 she is pretty handy with cell phone and I-Pad, but there is nothing like a real visit, and her assisted-living facility is now making family visits available by appointment. Nice to see the precautions they have enacted in person.
ReplyDeleteI'm so enjoying seeing all your lists! Thanks for joining in.
ReplyDeleteJuhli, a 1.5 mile walk is definitely an accomplishment considering your surgery. Being able to get up and walk is a blessing we sometimes take for granted. I am thankful for a new purpose in our lives. When our first grandchild was born a year ago, Covid wasn't even on our radar. Last spring, when our daughter's maternity leave ended, we agreed to help her and our SIL with childcare while they work. Honestly, I didn't know if my husband and I could keep up with a newborn. Today is her first birthday and she has stolen our hearts forever. It feels good to be needed and to be able to contribute. I sure enjoyed reading everyone's comments!! Good idea
