Tech month Monday #1

Where to start late adopter that I am? I went with deleting unnecessary saved document files and folders, making sure my password backup list was current and printing missing tax docs. Finished the last two action items but not the first although made progress.

Exploring saved documents (but not photos yet) and deleting as much as possible is my first step in creating better back up. The computer is old but runs just fine and has plenty of memory so no problems there. Don’t need those 5 year old Hubby’s work document drafts or pre-retirement planning stuff saved and backed up though. And on and on. Didn’t finish but I did mention that Tech month might be two months long!

Now does anyone know how to delete an old app from an android phone? Got to look that one up!

  1. You should be able to press down hard on any app icon and simply chose the Uninstall as one of the options that's above it. Or go to Google play app and in the upper left corner choose my app and then update or Uninstaller. You can't Uninstaller mostof the apps that came with the phone.

  2. I just did a major clean out of emails and a few files. Moved some pictures into folders as well. Next on the list is perhaps moving those pictures onto the thumb drive.

    You are doing very well.

    God bless.

  3. I just deleted a ton of photos off my computer of stuff that I've sold over the past few years. I usually list 12 photos per item but I only kept one per item for sentimental reasons I guess.

I use a service that automatically backs up my computer in a cloud called Carbonite. I crashed a computer so bad a few years back and lost EVERYTHING, but with Carbonite it was easy to transfer everything with one click of a button to a new computer.

  4. You are inspirational. I just cleaned out my filing cabinet and shredded to beat the band. Now I need to go through and change passwords...used the same or variations of the same password over and over. Time to remedy that.
I also want to get albums for all the old photos in bins and boxes and get them put in to the albums. Nothing fancy but just in albums for better keeping. Also have all my paper recipes to put in a notebook. I just like holding paper recipes rather than trying to cook from a screen.
