I had mine early in September and never miss it. This post over at Retirementally Challenged supports my decision!

  1. Thank you for the link! I'm glad to know that you are in the YES! column. Let's hope this year's vaccines keep us healthy.

  2. Yes, without fail! The two times I've missed it I've experenced some "come to the Lord"momets. For the first time I got the senior shot this year! I also got my pheumonia vaccine (still need the booster next year) and am trying to cecide if I should get the "newer and better" shingle shot.

    1. I'm getting the newer shingles shot (Shingrix) as soon as my pharmacy gets it in stock. In fact I'm on the waiting list and am going to follow up today to see why they haven't called! Both my parents had shingles twice. I don't want it and this one is supposed to be much more effective and longer lasting than the first vaccine.

  3. Always get them - while I am healthy and likely to recover well from a bout of flu, I don't want to be responsible for passing it on to my parents or other vulnerable people. - Dar at anexactinglife

    1. I agree totally! We see my elderly FIL and toddle granddaughter frequently. Now if I could get my husband to get a flu shot.

  4. I always get them even though they're not always that effective. But doing something is better than doing nothing.

    1. Yes, they can only prepare a vaccine to prevent or minimize the illness associated with none strains of flu. Since it is always mutating it won't cover everything that may appear.

  5. Ha! Just mentioned this to you. I had flu and shingles vaccines on the same day/different arms and was pretty sick for several days afterward. Do you get sick?

    1. I didn't have any reaction this year to the flu shot. I'm still waiting to get the Shingrix shingles vaccination as they don't have enough stock yet. Last year I had a mild reaction to the flu shot.
