Boosted again and our rain non-event

I was quite excited at the possibility of some rain even if it only settled the dust from the fields surrounding this area. It has been so hot that everything is parched and crispy which made the hurricane driven storm moving up the coast from Mexico look so appealing. It fizzled out before it got here.😢

On the good news front, I signed up to get the new Covid booster as soon as I could. Got it yesterday afternoon and of course woke up at 3 am as the Tylenol wore off. Big plans for the day are to take a nap and try to respond to emails. By Sunday I’m confident I’ll feel great again. This fall I still need my 10 year  tdap booster but I’ve gotten the seasonal flu vaccine and this Covid booster. Yeah for immune systems.

The pup accepted the early hour for getting up, has eaten breakfast and is hard at work on his chew bone toy. Me? I’m feeling a bit “squashed” but grateful for scientists!

  1. I have to laugh. We're all so full of vaccines, medicines, formulas and other chemicals that we should never get sick. And yet, we do. I have to wait two months after I get over my current Covid ... and then I'll get my next booster. Anyway, best of health to you.

    1. Sorry you got Covid but so have lots of people I know recently. We have avoided it so far and want to keep it that way!

  2. I am not sure when we can get our next boosters. It would be booster number 3 for me and I will get the flu vaccine as soon as possible as well. That usually happens around October up here.

    God bless.

    1. Mine was booster 3 too - the new bivalent one. I am spacing out my vaccines as my immune system usually reacts by making me exhausted. So flu in August, Covid booster Sept and 10 year tDap booster in October.

  3. I'm going to check when Placer Co has them available, I think I saw this coming week. Did you go to CVS?? I need my flu shot but usually get that @ my birthday at the end of the month.

    1. I did go to CVS and hear from friends that pretty much all locations of CVS here will have it next week. At the time I made the appointment only one had it.

  4. I have to get my polio vaccine of all things. At my dr appt a couple of weeks ago, she suggested that if we were going to the northeast on vacation, then I should get one (as I am almost positive I didn't as a child). My mother was an antivaxer before it was even a thing.

    1. Good catch on your Dr's part and isn't it terrible that there is a polio outbreak again when there is no need. I remember being taken to get my first dose on a sugar cube as soon as it was available. Sadly I think there have always been antivaxers but they didn't have the worldwide megaphone that they have now.
