And now it is Week 8 of Shutdown & Foot surgery scheduled

We are about to start week 8 of our Stay at Home order which has been extended until May 31st with minor changes to allow some retail businesses to open with curbside pick up. Some manufacturing and distribution businesses can open too. All businesses opening have to have a worker and customer safety plan approved and post the steps they are taking. No in store shopping, no malls, no personal services. This won't change our lives any right now.

I just found out my bunion surgery is scheduled for June 1st - yikes. I think hospitals are trying to get their regular business back in ASAP if they haven't been Covid centers. Thank goodness it is the little hospital in my small town so I'm feeling pretty good about it but of course my pre-surgery anxiety and questions about how to cope the first week kicked into high gear. Gives me something to focus on anyway.

  1. I hope it will be safe for you to be in the hospital; is it out patient surgery? I like the flowers in your photo, I have some of them, succulents with amazing color in their blooms.

    1. It is outpatient surgery and they are following strict guidelines. It will be interesting to see how they handle drop off and pick up. I'm used to having Hubby in the recovery room.

  2. I'll be interested in your bunion surgery. I have bunions that bother me. I had knee replacement surgery last year, May 29 so I figure if I can do that, I can do just about anything. lol.

If it is anything like the knee surgery, its the before pre-surgery anticipation that is the worse. Oh and physical therapy is a beast!

    1. I agree that it is a beast. Not looking forward to the pain or long recovery.

    1. Yes, when they indicated June I was thinking the end of June not June 1st! Having to stay home anyway is probably a good time to be stuck recovering.

  4. I think our outpatient surgeries won't be opening for awhile here yet. I really wish they would as I have been waiting a very long time for my surgery. I have a feeling it could be the end of summer before I get mine.

    God bless.

    1. I hope you can have your surgery safely in the near future. Our local area has had very few cases although I am still contemplating the sanity of doing this.

  5. I'm glad to hear things around our nation are slowing opening up, with caution of course. We are still planning for our Grands to come visit later in the summer. Summer seems so long away since we are having a bout of cold & snow flurries.

  6. Hope your surgery goes well. It will feel good to have it behind you. I heard that most hospital systems are anxious to resume regular practice and they're taking extra safety precautions. Please keep us posted.
