May: Week 3

Not as productive this week but still making progress. We also took my FIL and Great-Aunt out to lunch.
  • Booked a dog groomer and visited with dog to get acquainted
  • 1 step left on HVAC installation: Passed the duct testing so were able to schedule the inspection for Monday
  • Scheduled car passenger side air bag replacement under recall
  • Scheduled carpet and upholstery cleaning
  • Decided what mattresses to purchase as well as frames, sheets, blankets, comforter - yikes.
  • Bought pajamas, sunglasses & purse - returned too large rash guard
  • Bought paint for master bedroom feature wall (what were they thinking - the color really clashes!) and ceilings that are painted dark beige and make them feel lower than they are.
  • Found "shadow gray" towels for bathrooms. We've got to modernize that wall color & tile.
  • Actually hung one piece of art.

  1. I've been following your preparations to move, and now, all that goes into relocation. Very informative. My husband and I have started to research beds. In the past, we've owned a Restonic, and two different Sleep Number beds. If you don't mind sharing, I'd be interested to hear what you've been considering. It's such an important purchase! Thanks!

    1. We are buying both king and queen Ethos individually wrapped coil firm mattresses made with latex, wool and a small amount of HD foam also. They are locally made by Diamond Mattress. We are getting foundations and a heavy duty metal frame that can show ok.

  2. I forgot to mention the cost and that they are non-toxic, mostly natural/non-petroleum products. They are reduced because the dealer is relocating her showroom. Before CA sales taxes and delivery costs ($100 for all items), the queen set will be $848, the king set $1248 and each frame $400. The sides of the foundation and mattress are a dark brown tweed so it can show ok. If we had platform beds each would be $200 less.

  3. Juhli, thanks for the information! I checked out Ethos online, and the company sounds impressive. Now that I'm older (and wiser??) I appreciate products that are as natural as possible. The prices are good, also. I hope you enjoy your new home--especially those lovely beds! Please keep us posted.

  4. Girlfriend, you don't waste a moment! Wow! So proud of you for settling so quickly into your new California life. Can't wait to see updated pictures of your home.

We are doing summer bucket list on 6/21, if you would like to join us. Tamara is doing that with me. Just let us know if you are interested.
