I wasn’t able to go back to sleep after a short jolting earthquake just before 3am. Apparently it was centered near the UC Berkeley campus less than 2 miles away.
No damage to our house. The auto gas shutoff was not activated. No car alarms going. The dog went back to sleep fairly soon.
Just a minor adjustment in the Hayward fault so whew for us at least!
Oh my goodness, what a way to start the week!
ReplyDeleteNot uncommon in California but rarer in the SF area than in S. Cal. Not a fun way to wake up though.
DeleteGlad it was mild earthquake!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteGlad it was just a mild one and nothing went off.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks
DeleteSo many people don't even notice a 4.3
ReplyDeleteIt was centered just a couple of miles away so quite a jolt awake. True about not noticing it when you are further from the epicenter and get the waves.
DeleteGlad you are safe and no damage!
ReplyDeleteThanks. The dog was very confused though and I had to convince him to get back in bed.
DeleteGlad you're okay.
