3. We picked a paint color and agreed to the bid for the work - which was substantial but less than I imagined. Not my favorite color of paint but it will work and be a great improvement. We decided to do the whole patio in one color. Perhaps some potted plants to mark the step or we will just keep reminding people!
4. Why did I put it off so long??? It took less than 2 hours to delete files, remove hard drive (later will take it to be shredded), take remaining parts of computer tower to recycling center, and take old monitor, keyboard, etc. to Goodwill. While at it I also took paint and batteries to the recycling center and a few decluttered items to Goodwill instead of having them in the garage.
5. No babysitting tonight as the couple they were going to go out with had to cancel due to illness. Also they both have the day off for a long Memorial Day weekend so they will go out to lunch while the girls are at school.
6. And then there was the food poisoning outcome Tuesday evening and return of my sciatica Wednesday morning but we won’t talk about those! Seems though that it was fortunate that Pilates was cancelled for Wednesday because the trainer sprained her ankle hiking (ouch for her though). And I’m very glad we both were committed to babysitting Wednesday evening as I would have really struggled by myself.
I know exactly the feeling of "why didn't I do that sooner?". I finally got the old car out of my driveway after it had sat there, dead as a doornail, for FIVE months. At which point, I would have paid someone to get it out of there, but I did make a few $ so all is good.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a lot of extra things to deal with along with daily life and having some fun! You did it and that is what counts.
DeleteI still have one computer that I need to get to the recycling depot. I need to get the hard drive cleared somehow and I am not too sure how to do that in an all in one.
ReplyDeleteYou had a great week.
God bless.
I understand there are ways to wipe the hard drive although an expert might still be able to recover things. Can you access it at all? Smashing it with a hammer is another thing suggested.
DeleteIt really does help to tag team when you're babysitting, doesn't it? PC and I both wind up exhausted but at least it is evenly distributed between the two of us. We had the kids over to swim today and I am ready for bed now, just before 8 pm. Grandparenting is delightful but tiring.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your patio painted. Glad the deer left a few of the blooms on your plant for you to enjoy. Hope the food poisoning and sciatica pain are completely remedied.
so true about grandparenting little ones and I am better - thanks
DeleteHope you're feeling better. Aaack! The deer! We have so, SO many here.
ReplyDeleteI am better, thanks. The deer aren’t to abundant but 5he wild turkeys standing in the road are sure a hazard. They just stare at cars lol.
