Thankful - November 8

After the pandemic and other world events understandably caused such disruption in supply chains, I am thankful when they work! I know a dishwasher is not a necessity or even common worldwide, still I am thankful that our new one arrived, was installed and is working.

Thinking about dishwashers makes me think about how happy my Mom was when they bought a dishwasher. It was the kind that had to be rolled over to the sink and hooked up to the faucet but it was a game changer. Miss my parents even though they lived long lives and have been gone a long time.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. The sun is shining it's still in the 50-60s during the day and I have a cup of hot coffee. I am able to drive myself and walk up to the voting booth.
I am feeling like I can still make fun changes in my life.
    Take care.

  2. I still have a portable dishwasher. Love it and am thankful that I don't have to wash as many dishes anymore.

    God bless.

    1. As I recall from having one early in our marriage, they do a great job.

  3. Thankful indeed. As a kid we had an old wash tub and washing board in the basement . . . one my mother apparently used early in her marriage. By the time I came along we had a washer and dryer . . . and I still remember how much she appreciated those two machines. As for me, the last airbnb we rented had no dishwasher. Not too bad for ten days. But I wouldn't want to live without one.

    1. Interesting and makes me remember we had a wringer washer when I was a child plus clotheslines in the basement and outside. Had to sprinkle the dry clothes with water and then iron them too. Lots of effort to get chores done.
