Thankful Thursday Sept 9th

 So much this week.

A safe, uneventful drive to and from Berkeley.

Lovely time with loving family and seeing them remaining so happy and making the best of living through the pandemic with a young child while keeping her safe. No Hawaii vacation this year then let’s get a fun pool for the backyard and go splashing about often.

The most delicious mocha birthday cake made by my DIL and granddaughter and presented with a family chorus of Happy Birthday and 2 candles as 72 would have engulfed the cake lol.

The 3 pets (my dog and their dog and cat) all getting along as old friends should.

Lovely neighbors who picked up our mail each day and brought it over soon after we got home.

Renters of our clubhouse who are making it better by offering to fix things and making them beautiful too.

  1. What a precious time!! Look at the joy your darling granddaughter exudes during her time in the pool. Who needs Hawaii??!! Well, maybe the adults...but she is having a blast. Love that the pets even all get along and cooperating in making this a great visit. Our kitties are very skittish and standoffish because we are such loners. No one ever comes over. Makes it hard when we do have the occasional overnight guest.

    1. Thanks. I think most pets are having a hard time with visitors, etc because of the reduced pandemic socializing in their homes. These 3 animals have known each other for most of their lives so are easy together although our visits are infrequent. And yes it was the adults who were sad about the second summer of cancelled Hawaii vacation time.

  4. Don't you just love little children in a swimming pool. Their joy is so contagious. I'm wondering if we'll be swimming all year with the heat continuing like it is. Plum hot down here.

  5. That adorable photo is the perfect illustration of the phrase 'joyous abandon'. :)

  6. Sounds like a lovely way to spend your day! Mocha, YUM! We've taken to differentiating the candles, some for 10 year increments, and others for the 1's. I like the ones with the stars on top for the 10's...
