Do you mind if I complain a bit?

Woke up feeling a bit blue. Could be the icy rain outside. Could be I'm bored. Could be that we are going to be alone for the holidays. Could be that Hubby doesn't feel food - not bad, just not good. Could be that my Mom is once again having to have some surgery and is really having increased memory and thinking problems. Could be that I don't have enough going on in my life.

There, I'm done and will move on. Thank you.

  1. Well, I hear you. We are alone for the holidays too and my mum is getting lost in dementia. It's hard to be cheery when the days are relentlessly grey, but you're not alone.

    1. Sorry about your Mum. It is hard to watch our parents become frailer isn't it.

  2. My folks are long gone ... and I miss them esp. on the holidays. B's mother is still around, getting frailer all the time. And yet, at 97, she's lived a full life. What more can we ask?

    1. 97 - Wow she is doing very well. My Mom is 92 and is doing well on many dimensions but the way her mind is going makes it difficult at times.

  3. Sorry about your mom. It's hard to see a parent having problems. We are by ourselves also. Parents and brothers are gone and children out of state. Not everyone has a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving but ours will be good nonetheless.

    1. Thanks - it is hard seeing a parent having problems and being too far away to help except for calls. Thank goodness for my Brother and SIL. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving and know that we chose not to travel to share ours with family. I agree it will be good nonetheless.

    1. Thank you Rosy for such a lovely comment. I think the struggles with retirement come and go and that day I was having them combined with feeling sorry for myself with family all far away.
