Simplify Challenge Day 3: Hobbies, Books and Office Supplies

This week I’m following along with the Life Your Way Simplify for Fall Challenge. Six days, six areas of the home to simplify. I’ll be sharing my progress here all week.

This was a pretty easy challenge for me. Good thing because I had a sore throat last night and feel a bit punk today.

Like many people we have remnants of past hobbies stored away - from large ones like the ping-pong table in the carport and a major telescope to small ones like chess sets and art supplies. Most of these items are my hubby's or jointly purchased so I can't make a decision about them by myself. I did go through my art supplies. I ignored my minimal sewing supplies.

Books are the same. A few belong only to me and I went through them again. Office supplies are already simplified so I ignored them too.

Results:
5 art items donated
1 book donated
Some paper recycled

Hope you made more progress than I did today!

  1. I've done next to nothing so far... Made myself a loaf of GF zuchinni bread, and that's about it! But I HAVE TO organize & tidy up my living room & dining room from our new tv, etc... It's still a disaster & on the top of my list today!

    1. But what fun to have the new entertainment center and TV in place and available. You truly have a lot on your plate - don't work too hard today.

  2. Im behind. I did clothes on Monday but what with getting ready for school, yesterday was spent buying books and settup up my new laptop and the like.

At some point I have to work on my sewing room-and make it space in it for card making and the like. Its a conundrum.

  3. You are doing good! I am not doing this challenge but the other day I was sitting in the family room, looking at all my books that have been purged 3-4 times in the past year or two, and decided I could get rid of some more. Bye bye 20 more books.

Why do I feel like I have already told you this? But I love decluttering...I really do.

    1. I love decluttering too and would pretty much get rid of everything we don't regularly use if it was only up to me. Then I'd move into a smaller place and spend less time on house and yard. Good thing I love my hubby!
